Mark Cheolhyun Yoo graduated from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Seoul National University, and passed the 44th annual Patent Attorney Examination in 2007.

Since founding BLT Patent & Law Firm, an ”accelerator“ type firm engaged in discovery and direct investment into startups, Yoo, an expert in IT and BM, has been involved in IP and business strategy consulting for all types of technology-based startups. He is currently a member of the deliberative council of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and is in charge of review for the TIPs program of the Korea Business Angels Association.

Jeonghan Uhm graduated from the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Seoul National University, and passed the 43rd annual Patent Attorney Examination in 2006.

With managing partner Cheolhyun Yoo, Uhm co-founded BLT as a firm to discover and invest directly in promising startups, and operated the accelerator “Company B” and “Company B Private Investment Fund.”Uhm lectures in the areas of corporate diagnostics, patent strategy, brand strategy, equity capital inducement strategy and startup marketing, and is engaged in angel investment and startup planning, marketing and IP affairs.

Ilhyo Suh

Managing Partner Ilhyo Suh graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Seoul National University, and passed the 46th annual Patent Attorney Examination in 2010.

Suh is experienced in Korean and overseas patent application filing for large Korean enterprises as well as Korean patent applications for large foreign corporations, and is currently engaged primarily in SME patent applications and patent consulting. Suh also excels as an employee invention consultant, and his areas of interest include technology escrow, trade secrets and institutions for business and patent protection.

Taekyun Chung

Managing Partner Taekyun Chung graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Yonsei University and passed the 48th Patent Attorney Examination in 2011.

Chung built his experience in defense industries IP affairs while serving in the Army IP Management Bureau at the Ministry of Defense, and is engaged in patent affairs for major Korean hospitals (Asan Medical Center, Yonsei University Health System and Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital) and medical enterprises. Chung is also involved in patent affairs and business for fintech, security and AI startups.

Yeonsoo Park

Managing Partner Yeonsoo Park graduated from the Department of Biology Education at Seoul National University, and then passed the 46th Patent Attorney Examination in 2009 and the first National Bar Examination in 2012.

Park has handled patent-related affairs for domestic and overseas enterprises in the areas of bioengineering, pharmaceuticals and chemistry, and IP strategy and domestic-overseas IP litigation for Korean bio firms. At BLT, Park is responsible for chemical and bio patent applications, IP dispute and litigation response, and advisory.

Patent attorney Gihyeon Park graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at KAIST, and passed the 52nd Patent Attorney Examination in 2015.

Intellectual property specialist with extensive experience advising large-scale enterprises on patent prosecution, IP disputes, and portfolio development. Technical expertise spans autonomous vehicles, healthcare devices, AI/machine learning, and user interface design.
